The Church celebrates the redemptive death of Christ on Good Friday. The Church meditates on the Lord's Passion in the afternoon liturgical action, in which she prays for the salvation of the word, adores the Cross and commemorates her very origin in the sacred wound in Christ's side (cf. John 19, 34).

Via Crucis

St. Francis de Sales offers an opportunity to pray the Stations of the Cross called Via Crusis.  Various members of our community are part of this live and powerful meditation. It starts in the parking lot between the church and the parish offices and participants are taken on the journey to Christ's crucifixion.  All are welcome to participate in this experience.  Note that the prayer experience moves around a four block radius of the church.  The prayer begins and ends at the church campus, so those who are not able to move with the procession are invited to stay at the church to complete the prayer with the group.  Our prayer experience ends with veneration of the cross where everyone is invited to embrace Christ's cross.
