It is with a mix of gratitude and a touch of sadness that we bid farewell to Fr. Noah Thelen, our associate pastor of two years, as he heads to his new assignment as canonical administrator of St. Bartholomew Parish in Newaygo and St. Joseph Parish in White Cloud. As Fr. Noah embarks on a new chapter July 1 in his priesthood, it is crucial for us to take a moment to express our deep appreciation for his faithful dedication. Moreover, let us use this occasion to reflect on the significance of praying for our current and future priests, recognizing their pivotal role in God's plan for His Church.
As we look at our Church now and, in the future, we recognize the essential need for priests who embody the qualities of prayerfulness, humility, and a profound faithful heart to serve God's people. Through our prayers, we can intercede for these future priests, asking God to guide them in their discernment and strengthen them in their commitment to the vocation of priesthood. Lord, bless these men that you are calling to serve your Church and provide them with the grace and courage they need to answer His call.
In our pursuit of supporting the formation of future priests, we have witnessed the incredible impact of the Our Shepherd our Future campaign which many of our parishioners have and continue to contribute to as they fulfil their pledge. The funds raised through this initiative play a crucial role in ensuring that seminarians receive the comprehensive formation necessary for their priestly ministry. By contributing to this campaign, we actively participate in the shaping of the future of our Church, knowing that our investment will yield immeasurable spiritual rewards for generations to come.
Yet, our responsibility does not end with financial support alone. We must be vigilant and attentive to the signs of vocations within our midst. In our families and parish community, we need to foster a culture of discernment, creating an environment that nurtures and supports young men who may be called to the priesthood. Through our guidance, encouragement, and prayers, we can be instruments in helping them discover and respond to God's will in their lives. It is in the embrace of strong families that the seeds of vocations find fertile ground to grow. Families grounded in faith, prayer, and authentic discipleship become the bedrock from which future priests emerge. By cultivating a family life centered on Christ, we actively contribute to the formation of young men who will become leaders in the Church, guiding us in the celebration of the sacraments and the faith.
Reflecting on Fr. Noah's time among us, we cannot overlook the profound impact he has had on our parish community. He played an integral role in our pastoral plan, spearheading the reintroduction of day-long Eucharistic adoration after the challenges posed by the pandemic and the Eucharistic procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi. Through his efforts, our parish experienced a deepening of our prayer life and a renewed sense of connection with the Eucharistic presence of our Lord.
Additionally, Fr. Noah's compassionate heart extended to the sick and grieving within our community. He brought the comforting presence of Christ to those confined to their homes, ministering to them with love and tenderness. Furthermore, he readily made himself available to those grappling with doubts and struggles in their faith, offering support, prayer, and guidance to help them navigate their spiritual journey.
As we bid farewell to Fr. Noah, let us rejoice in the profound impact he has made during his time here and lift him up in prayer as he continues to serve elsewhere. May God bless him abundantly and grant him strength and joy in his ministry.

Orando por Nuestros Sacerdotes
Con una mezcla de gratitud y un toque de tristeza, nos despedimos del Padre Noah Thelen, nuestro pastor asociado durante dos años, mientras se dirige a su nueva asignación como administrador canónico de la Parroquia de San Bartolomé en Newaygo y la Parroquia de San José en White Cloud. A medida que el Padre Noah comienza un nuevo capítulo el 1 de julio en su sacerdocio, es crucial que dediquemos un momento para expresar nuestro profundo agradecimiento por su dedicación fiel. Además, aprovechemos esta ocasión para reflexionar sobre la importancia de orar por nuestros sacerdotes actuales y futuros, reconociendo su papel fundamental en el plan de Dios para Su Iglesia.

Señor, bendice a estos hombres a quienes estás llamando a servir a tu Iglesia y concédeles la gracia y el valor que necesitan para responder a tu llamado.

Además, el corazón compasivo del Padre Noah se extendió a los enfermos y afligidos dentro de nuestra comunidad. Al despedirnos del Padre Noah, alegrémonos por el profundo impacto que ha tenido durante su tiempo aquí y elevémoslo en oración mientras continúa sirviendo en otro lugar. Que Dios lo bendiga abundantemente y le conceda fuerza y alegría en su ministerio.
