Natural Family Planning Awareness Week is July 23-29

Natural Family Planning (NFP) refers to fertility-awareness-based methods of regulating conception. Based on scientific research, NFP is consistent with Catholic teaching and creates opportunities for married couples to take time together to understand, recognize and talk about the natural and biological signs of fertility and infertility.

Natural Family Planning Awareness Week, with the theme this year of “Marriage: One Flesh, Given and Received,” celebrates fertility-based awareness methods and the marriage-strengthening benefits they offer for couples.

The dates of Natural Family Planning Awareness Week highlight the anniversary of the Pope Paul VI’s 1968 encyclical Humanae Vitae which articulates Catholic beliefs about human sexuality, conjugal love and responsible parenthood. July 25 and 26 which fall during NFP Awareness Week, mark the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Mother.

La semana de concientización sobre la planificación familiar natural es del 23 al 29 de julio

La planificación familiar natural (PFN) se refiere a los métodos basados ​​en el conocimiento de la fertilidad para regular la concepción. Basada en investigaciones científicas, la PFN es coherente con la enseñanza católica y crea oportunidades para que las parejas casadas se tomen un tiempo para comprender, reconocer y hablar sobre los signos naturales y biológicos de la fertilidad y la infertilidad.

Las fechas de la Semana de Concientización sobre la Planificación Familiar Natural destacan el aniversario de la encíclica Humanae Vitae de 1968 del Papa Pablo VI, que articula las creencias católicas sobre la sexualidad humana, el amor conyugal y la paternidad responsable.
