National Vocation Awareness Week will be celebrated in our country November 1-7, 2020. Please ask Our Lord for more dedicated, holy priests, deacons and consecrated men and women. May they be inspired by Jesus Christ, supported by our faith community, and respond generously to God’s gift of a vocation."
When they brought their boats to the shore, [Peter, James, and John] left everything and followed him ~ Luke 5:11. The word, vocation, comes from the Latin word vocare, which means “to call.” This means that a vocational call is always an invitation from God and he respects our freedom to say yes or no. God calls many men and women to live out their holiness and vocational call to love in marriage and as parents who have a privileged opportunity to be the first teachers of God’s love to their children. But God also calls some men and women to devote themselves to proclaiming the Gospel and to build up the kingdom of heaven through religious life and ordained ministry. Whether he calls us to the vocation of marriage, religious life, or priesthood, he always invites, he never coerces. When God calls us to a vocation, he invites us to trust him, and to respond with a resounding “yes.”

La Semana Nacional de las Vocaciones se celebrará en nuestro país del 1 al 7 de noviembre de 2020. Por favor, pídanle a Nuestro Señor más sacerdotes, diáconos y hombres y mujeres consagrados dedicados y santos. Que sean inspirados por Jesucristo, apoyados por nuestra comunidad de fe, y respondan generosamente al don de Dios de una vocación".

Esto significa que un llamado vocacional es siempre una invitación de Dios y respeta nuestra libertad de decir sí o no. Dios llama a muchos hombres y mujeres a vivir su santidad y su llamado vocacional al amor en el matrimonio y como padres que tienen la oportunidad privilegiada de ser los primeros maestros del amor de Dios para sus hijos. Pero Dios también llama a algunos hombres y mujeres a dedicarse a proclamar el Evangelio y a construir el reino de los cielos a través de la vida religiosa y el ministerio ordenado. Ya sea que nos llame a la vocación del matrimonio, la vida religiosa o el sacerdocio, siempre invita, nunca por obligación. Cuando Dios nos llama a una vocación, nos invita a confiar en él y a responder con un rotundo "sí".
