Happy Birthday!
The Church celebrates its birthday on Sunday, May 31, 2020 (Pentecost) - and since we are the church, that means WE celebrate OUR birthday this weekend! We celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit to the disciples and to us.
Take a look at this resource from Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (USA). They have provided a beautiful outline for Living Pentecost at Home with the Family, adapting a presentation for children to a wonderful (and wonderfully easy) celebration at home in the family. Whether or not your family is at Mass at the parish this weekend, consider praying with your children about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. With this outline, the family will ponder together the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, with each member asking for the gift they most desire/need at this time. Suggestions are also included for ages of the children, and for resources you might not have in these times.
