Our parish celebrated the Rite of Election with Kim Nguyen yesterday, Tuesday, July 16. Kim is a recent Hope College graduate and has been active with our Saint Benedict Institute on campus.
The Rite of Election marks the beginning of a period of purification and enlightenment that typically coincides with Lent. We will celebrate with her the three scrutinies in the coming weeks and the Sacraments of Initiation (baptism, confirmation, Eucharist) Sunday, August 25th at the 8:30 am Mass.
While most adult baptisms are done during the Easter Vigil, permission can be granted in some circumstances by the bishop to do so out of the ordinary time.
Please keep her in prayer as she prepares for a new life in Christ.
