Welcome!
The celebration of the Quinceañera is a special time for a young lady and her family. Parents and friends publicly present her as a gesture of thanks and gratitude for the
gift of life. For the quinceañera, it is an affirmation of her commitment to Christ. The quinceañera, though not a sacrament, is sacramental. We are so happy to be walking with you and your family on this journey. We’ve outlined the expectations and process below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the parish office.
Expectations of the Young Lady
Family should be active and registered parishioners for at least 9 months before the anticipated Quinceañera celebration
* Attend Mass regularly
* Participate actively in youth ministry (must register) and parish life (Alpha, ushers)
2025 Requirements
* Young lady must be registered in our youth ministry. Alpha, or Confirmation program
* Contact the church before March 2025.
* Parents and Quinceañera must attend a Quinceañera retreat; retreat will be offere in April 2025.
* A Quinceañera Mass Rehearsal the friday before the date of Quinceañera.
XV Fees 2025
To help defray costs associated with a Quinceañeras Mass. There are no fee levels for members and non-members.
Celebrant Fee/Gift

It is customary to gift the celebrant (Priest or Deacon) ($100) payable to the priest or deacon for the additional work and attention given to the couple for their ceremony.
Musician Cost.

The parents of Quinceañeras need to contact the parish musicians, Glenda & Maurico, gmiranda@miottawa.org. You will need to pay the music fee separate from the parish fees. If you would like to bring in your own musicians, the approval of the coordinator is Pastoral Music is needed. Other Fees will apply.

Scheduling your Quinceañera
For questions about a Quinceañera, please call the Faith Formation Office at 616-392-6700. Quinceañeras are held 4 times a year and need to be scheduled by March 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Does the young lady celebrating her Quinceañera need to be confirmed?
Answer: Generally when a young lady celebrates her Quinceañera, she is in the 9th grade, and the sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated at the beginning of 10th grade. So, during preparation for the Quinceañera we ask that the family and the young lady make a commitment to growing in their faith and register for a Confirmation or Faith Formation program during the year she will be preparing. Question: If the young lady and her family change their minds about celebrating her Quinceañera here at St. Francis, can we get our money back?
Answer: If you cancel the celebration before January 2025, you can receive $200 back. If you cancel after April 2025, no refund will be given.

¡Bienvenida!
La celebración de una Quinceañera es un momento especial para la jovencita y su familia. Padres y amistades presentan a la Quinceañera como un gesto de agradecimiento por el regalo de vida. Para la Quinceañera, es una afirmación de su compromiso con Cristo. Una Quinceañera, en si no es un sacramento, sino un sacramental.
Estamos muy contentos de caminar contigo y tu familia en esta jornada. En este folleto se indica lo que esperamos de ti y de tu familia y también el proceso a seguir. Si tienen alguna pregunta, llamen por favor a la oficina parroquial.
Expectativas de la Joven y su Familia
La familia debe ser activa y estar registrada en la parroquia por lo menos 9 meses antes de la celebración de su Quinceañera.
· Asistir a la Misa regularmente
· Participar activamente en el ministerio juvenil (debe de registrarse) Alpha, y en la vida parroquial
Requisitos para el 2025
¨ La joven debe de estar registrada en nuestro programa del ministerio juvenil
¨ Llamar a la oficina antes de marzo de 2025
¨ Los padres de familia y la Quinceañera deben de asistir a un Retiro de Quinceañera, el retiro se ofrecerá en abril de 2025.
¨ El ensayo para la Misa el viernes antes de la fecha de la Quinceañera.
XV Cuotas 2025
Para ayudar a sufragar los costos asociados con una Misa de Quinceañeras. No hay niveles de tarifas para miembros y no miembros.
Obsequio del celebrante:
Es costumbre regalar al celebrante (Sacerdote o Diácono) ($100) pagaderos al sacerdote o diácono por el trabajo adicional y la atención brindada a la pareja durante su ceremonia.
Costo del músico.
Los padres de Quinceañeras deben comunicarse con los músicos de la parroquia, Glenda y Mauricio, gmiranda@miottawa.org. Deberá pagar la tarifa de música por separado de las tarifas parroquiales. Si desea traer sus propios músicos, se necesita la aprobación del coordinador de Pastoral Music. Se aplicarán otras tarifas.

Respuesta: Generalmente cuando una jovencita celebra sus Quinceañera, se encuentra cursando el grado 9o y el sacramento de la Confirmación se celebra al inicio del grado décimo, entonces, entonces, durante la preparación para la Quinceañera, le pedimos a la familia y a la joven que se comprometan a crecer en su fe y se registren en un programa de Confirmación o Formación de Fe durante el año en que ella se está preparando.
